When the Swelling Goes Down

Join us for an evening of theater followed by small group processing. Originated and performed by actor, professor, and comedian, Samuel Ray Gates, MFA, After the Swelling Goes Down explores themes of race, identity, and trauma with humor and poignancy.

This event is hybrid, and you can register to attend in-person or via livestream.

Clinical Lecture Series trainings are for students, professionals, and community members interested in therapeutic practices that are anti-oppressive, intersectional, and centered on self-determination. 

Free of charge for UNC School of Social Work students, faculty, staff, and field instructors.

Scholarships available upon request.
