“Cultural Adaptation: Why Does it Matter?”

Sandra Reeves Spears and John B. Turner Distinguished Professor of Social Work Trenette Clark Goings, the founding director of the INSPIRED Lab at UNC, is proud to present a monthly webinar series by INSPIRED Lab. The first installment, “Cultural Adaptation: Why Does it Matter? — The Cultural Adaptation of Keepin’ It Real for Mexico” takes place Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 12 — 1:30 p.m.

September’s event features Flavio F. Marsiglia, the director of the Global Center for Applied Health Research (GCAHR) at the Arizona State School of Social Work. He is one of the original developers of keepin’ it REAL, an evidence-based drug prevention program for adolescents. Marsiglia is leading the cultural adaptation and dissemination of keepin’ it REAL in various countries in Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe.
