Bobby Boyd Leadership Lecture

March 24, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Alexa Broderick will present “The Daily Act of Pursuing Equity” for the 7th annual Bobby Boyd Leadership Lecture. This event is free and open to the public.

In her presentation, Broderick will show how we can bring diversity, equity, and inclusion to life in our mindsets and our behaviors and as a lens through which our decisions are made. She will encourage us to examine and challenge our norms and learned behaviors in order to achieve meaningfully different outcomes and experiences, especially for those who have been most marginalized in society.

Broderick is founder and principal of The Equity Paradigm, a diversity, equity, and inclusion firm that provides learning experiences, coaching, and strategic thought. Her work spans hundreds of organizations, from PreK-12 systems and higher education to nonprofits, foundations, and for-profit companies.

The Bobby Boyd Leadership Lecture series honors the work of Bobby Boyd (MSW ’69), who served as director of Catawba County Department of Social Services for 30 years.

NOTE: For those of you who have attended this lecture series in past years, please note that we have moved this lecture to a daytime schedule so that more students can participate. Please join us for lunch at 12 p.m. and the lecture at 12:30 p.m. No pre-registration is necessary.
