Tina joined SSW in 2005 as director of the 3-Year Winston-Salem MSW Program. She was appointed the School’s full time director of digital learning and instruction in July 2022. In this newly created role, Souders works exclusively to advance the digital learning and instruction needs of the School, including coordinating trainings for faculty.  Tina is a proud past recipient of the Excellence in MSW Student Advising Award in 2017. She has taught macro practice courses in the generalist and specialization curriculum as well as a summer elective, Social Work and the Law. She has received the Dean’s Recognition of Teaching Excellence seven times since joining SSW, most recently in 2018.

Tina is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of North Carolina and a longtime member of NASW. She is a frequent speaker on professional social work ethics at Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) and NASW continuing education programs. Although Tina is not a technology wizard, she enjoys teaching and learning online. She was a finalist in the Design & Development Competition at the 2016 Association of Educational Communications and Technology International Convention.
