Tara Bohley

Director, Behavioral Health Springboard

Tara Bohley, LMFT, MPA, is clinical assistant professor and the director of Behavioral Health Springboard (BHS) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work. In this role, she directs contractual training and consultation services related to the publicly funded mental health and substance use disorder service system for the N.C. Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services.

Additionally, she oversees the UNC-Chapel Hill Mental Health First Aid activities, providing the training to faculty, staff and students.

Her direct practice background includes work in mental health, juvenile justice, and child welfare. In a management capacity, Tara’s concentration has been in quality improvement, workforce development and program evaluation. She has successfully secured funding from federal and state grantors, as well as from private foundations to develop programs, expand capacity and to measure performance.

Tara is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a certified mental health first aid instructor. She maintains a private practice in Durham, N.C.
