Description of Job Duties:    The primary purpose of this position is to assist supervisors with training new staff, assist with ongoing training for team members, perform duties of a child support agent due to vacancies, provide leadership to staff in the absence of a Supervisor I, and consult with other agents regarding regulations, policies and procedures. Position is responsible for lead casework in the Child Support Program and must be available to provide casework consultation and decisions as well as exhibit other leadership abilities. Major functions include conducting case reviews as instructed, problem analysis/identification/resolution, reporting results of analysis, and assisting with training of new and current staff. Additional responsibilities include being available to assist caseworkers with any casework function, assisting supervisor with planning short term goals and objectives for the Child Support Unit and assisting with preparations for quality reviews. Position works independently with full support from supervisor. Supervisor will randomly sample position’s work to ensure compliance with program policy and team expectations. This agent requires an in-depth knowledge of child support regulations and procedures.


This position will learn and use programs Compass Pilot and Compass Appointments (Compass Co-Pilot, if issued a DSS iPad) as required by the position to do, but not limited to:  request leave, schedule/receive appropriate appointments, set up virtual files, scan/retrieve documents, receive/send tasks.

Educational/Experience Requirements:
  • Four-year degree and one year in IV-D; or
  • Associates degree in business administration, human resources, law enforcement or closely related degree and two years of experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary or legal work that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the work and one year in IV-D or
  • Graduation from high school and three years of experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary, or legal work that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the work; and one year in IV-D; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
