Tate Talks

Tate Talks are lunchtime events featuring guest speakers who are on the cutting edge of research, both in our profession and in related fields. Designed to address the academic needs of doctoral students, researchers, and scholars, these presentations are academically rigorous and thought-provoking.

These engaging events are inspired by the memory of John A. “Jack” Tate, for whom our academic home (Tate-Turner-Kuralt Building) is named. He was a passionate advocate for social change, and he continually explored the newest perspectives on the issues that challenge our profession — an approach that is reflected in each Tate Talk.
