Neisler ’06 working with military families

Debra Neisler, MSW ’06, LCSW, started a new position as a child and youth behavioral military family life consultant.

She is closing her private therapy practice in Durham and will be working as a sub-contractor for the Department of Defense on military bases in the U.S. and Europe. She starts training in December at Ft. Bragg and then hopes to begin her first 60-day assignment shortly after.

In addition to her therapy practice serving children and families, she also spent three years as a volunteer for Safechild in Raleigh as co-facilitator of the Nurturing Parenting program. This 12-week parent education program is child abuse prevention program targeted towards families with some court or social service involvement.

“I am excited to begin this new part of my career as a social worker,” said Neisler.
