Tiffany Washington, Ph.D. ’13, has been awarded tenure and promoted to associate professor at the University of Georgia School of Social Work. Washington received the 2019 Outstanding Faculty Contributions to Service-Learning in Higher Education Research Award from the Gulf South Summit.
Susan Davis, MSW ’68, of California recently announced she will not seek reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives, where she has served for nearly 20 years. Davis worked as a social worker and served for six years in the California State Assembly before being elected to Congress.
J. Louise Newton, MSW ’10, is one of the lead trainers for an event at the end of the month on best practice care for LGBTQ+ young adults. Newton has been a clinical educator and advocate for LGBTQ+ communities since 2001. She is the clinical director of psychotherapy at MindPath Care Centers, and the clinic director of her group practice at Catalyst Somatics and Psychotherapy in Durham.
