The School of Social Work was mentioned in the WUNC-radio article, “Social services agencies investigate thousands of child abuse and neglect cases.” The School was also featured in the Durham Herald Sun article, “How LGBT elders and their advocates are keeping the closet door open in retirement.”

Kim Strom-Gottfried, Smith P. Theimann Distinguished Professor for Ethics and Professional Practice, was recently featured in The Daily Tar Heel article, “Relaunch of ethics hotline encourages reporting of unethical behavior.” Strom-Gottfried also serves as the University’s director of the Office of Ethics Education and Policy Management.

First year MSW student Alex Lombardi was featured in the article, “Housing Partners with UNC School of Social Work assisting residents in developing life skills, connecting students,” which was published by the Town of Chapel Hill.

Associate professor Gina Chowa, and assistant professors Rain Masa and David Ansong were featured in the Daily Tar Heel article, “New research center aims to address global social issues.

Linnea Smith, a member of the School’s Board of Advisors, was recently featured in the Chapel Hill Magazine article, “The Smiths pass down a passion for giving back.”
