Students from Iris Carlton-LaNey’s 501 class, “Confronting Oppression and Institutional Discrimination,” were featured in The Daily Tar Heel’s “Social work students’ projects to highlight NC communities,” and in WCHL’s “Hear Our Voices project gives voices to marginalized groups.”

MSW student Frank Allison was featured in The Daily Tar Heel’s “‘It was just a constant’: Students deal with substance use disorder through Carolina Recovery Program.”

The School of Social Work’s Project NO REST initiative, which is being directed by Dean Duncan, was featured in The Charlotte Observer’s “Bill would allocate $50 million to help human trafficking victims.” Duncan was also featured in The Winston-Salem Journal’s “Our view: Human trafficking is a scourge we must stop.
