Alumni briefs: Holmes, ’14; McDonald, ’16; and McDonough ’03

Marbeth Holmes, MSW ’14, was featured in an article in the Rocky Mount Telegram about her work with Nash Community College’s Collegiate Recovery Program, which serves students struggling with addiction. Holmes, the community college’s director of student wellness, started the recovery program, which is the first to be developed for any of the state’s community colleges.

Donald McDonald, MSW ’16, published a letter to the editor in the Raleigh News & Observer about the need to give people who are recovering from substance abuse a second chance.

Lee Chaix McDonough, MSW/MSPH 2003, published an essay in elephant journal, a popular online magazine devoted to mindful living. McDonough is a professional coach and licensed clinical social worker, living in New Bern.
