School of Social Work Board of Advisors member Mary “Larry” Young Hines is profiled in an April 5 News & Observer article, “Raleigh Donut Dolly remembers Vietnam, post-war times in Chapel Hill.”

Two faculty were recently honored as a “Hometown Hero” with WCHL radio’s Village Pride Award. Clinical Assistant Professor Bebe Smith on March 31, and Professor Rebecca Macy on April 7. They were each featured on WCHL throughout the day. Listen

Smith is included in an April 7 UNC News story, “UNC honors 15 individuals and groups for public service.”

The School of Social Work is mentioned in an op-ed piece by the UNC Board of Governors chair, which ran in a number of North Carolina newspapers in early March. The School is also mentioned in an op-ed column written in response to that one, published by the Duke Chronicle.

Retired School of Social Work professor Hortense McClinton is profiled in a Feb. 24 story by the University Gazette, “McClinton did not study black history – she lived it.”
