Mark Fraser, John A. Tate Distinguished Professor for Children in Need, has been asked by the government of Sweden to serve on a 12-person interdisciplinary team reviewing proposals for research on children’s mental health, including the relation to physical health.
About 160 proposals are being reviewed by the team, who will select 10 to recommend to the government agencies for three years of funding.
Fraser will spend one week in February in Sweden meeting with the proposal review group.
The Project Research Grant for Child and Adolescent Mental Health is comprised of four Swedish public research funders: Swedish Research Council; the Swedish Research Council for Environment, Agricultural Sciences and Spatial Planning; the Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare; and the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems.
“It is a privilege to be able to do this, and help Sweden decide on research priorities for children, youth and families,” said Fraser.
