Kim Strom-Gottfried, Ph.D., keynoted the celebration of World Social Work Day with faculty, students, and social agency staff with a presentation on moral courage.
The March 18 event was sponsored by the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Political Sciences, of Sarajevo University and in collaboration with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The event highlighted the global celebration of social work and its attention to values of human dignity, human rights, and the moral obligation of social work in fulfilling its mission.
Following the keynote presentation, Strom-Gottfried held an informal workshop with faculty and students focusing on the day-to-day work of the social worker in addressing the moral and ethical dilemmas faced in their work.
