Jodi Flick is quoted in a Nov. 6 Fayetteville Observer opinion piece, “Editorial-Step In: Child Deaths Require Adult Involvement.”

Sheryl Zimmerman is quoted in a Dec. 2 townhall.com article, “Frontline/ProPublica’s Misguided Attack on the Assisted Living Industry Part 2.” In July, PBS’s “Frontine” aired an expose of an assisted living chain, which caused controversy because some considered the feature one-sided and not representative of the industry.  Zimmerman was subsequently interviewed and is the only academic quoted in this article.

UNC School of Social Work Board of Advisors member Dr. Linnea Smith was interviewed on WNCN News on Nov. 13, about her husband Dean Smith’s Presidential award.

Staff member Thaddaeus Edwards is highlighted in a review in the Dec. 9 News & Observer for his acting role in the play “The Best of Enemies,” currently playing at Manbites Dog Theater in Durham.
