On Oct. 15, the UNC School of Social Work and the UNC American Indian Center hosted its first Native Pathways Health Career Fair for undergraduate students and recent alumni involved with the Carolina Indian Circle. The event brought together representatives from the various health affairs programs and exposed students to the array of graduate school opportunities available to them at UNC. The event was part of efforts by the Health Affairs Pipeline Initiative (HAPI) to increase retention of underrepresented minority students in health related careers. Participates included the School of Social Work, School of Public Health, School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy, Allied Health Sciences, School of Nursing, N.C. Health Careers Access Program and the UNC Graduate School.
