Alumni briefs: DeNard ’10, Forrester ’13, Powell ’13, Stewart ’13, Wilson ’90

Christina DeNard, MSW ’10 and Dawn Wilson, MSW ’90, are featured in a UNC spotlight story that appeared on the university’s home page, “Success coaches keep families together.”

Sandra Forrester, MSW ’13, is working for six months as a volunteer legal advocate in Guayaquil with Asylum Access Ecuador. “I would strongly encourage anyone who is interested in international social work and/or refugee rights, case management, advocacy or community outreach to consider applying for a position. Asylum Access has offices in Ecuador, Tanzania and Thailand,” said Forrester.

Reiss Powell and Jane Stewart, both MSW ’13, are engaged to be married in November. “We met during Adult Mental Health and he asked me out after Treating Trauma in Families class,” said Stewart, “and the rest is history!” Congratulations, Reiss and Jane!
