Nominations sought for faculty public service award

The School of Social Work is currently seeking nominations for a newly-established award that honors a faculty member’s exemplary service outside the university.

The Excellence in Public Service and Engagement Award aims to recognize the invaluable contributions that our faculty make in the communities with which they engage locally, statewide, nationally and globally. The award may honor a specific effort or an overall record of service.

This award recognizes excellence in engagement outside of the University that strengthens individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. The work should exemplify social work values and ethics. Awardees will be chosen based on the value and impact of their work.

Community groups, agencies, organizations, or individuals are encouraged to nominate social work faculty who have demonstrated excellence in their service in these domains. Nominations are due March 29, 2013.
