Interpreters for the day were School of Social Work Professor Shenyang Guo and doctoral student Qi Wu.

Our guests also enjoyed a tour of the UNC campus and lunch at the Carolina Inn.

In 2008, the UNC School of Social Work signed a “memorandum of understanding (MOU)” with ECUST, giving our faculty and students opportunities to study abroad and collaborate with international peers on research and other academic activities.

“The two schools have accomplished a lot since we started our collaboration,” said Guo. “Dean Xu’s visit to UNC, and Dean Richman’s planned visit to ECUST in March, make the relationship even stronger. Dean Xu said to me that ‘UNC really plays a leadership role in social work research and education. From this visit we know why the program is ranked as number five by U.S. News and World Report,'” relayed Guo.
