Students collecting gifts for military families

By Jackie Mroz, MSW Student

Military Caucus, Social Work Student Organization

The military caucus would like to invite you to join us in the collection of gifts for the 340th Psychological Unit in Raleigh, who recently returned from deployment. They will be having a holiday party in December and we would like to honor these service members and their families by donating gifts and notes of support.

Here is how you can help:

  1. Look for the poster board in the 5th floor lounge with tags on it. Pick a tag.
  2. Make/purchase a gift for the individual identified on your tag. There is no obligation to purchase anything, homemade is perfectly fine!
  3. Don’t forget to write a brief note showing your support (age-appropriate please).
  4. Bring back your gift and tag no later than Nov. 27, 2012. It does not have to be wrapped. Place it in the boxes below the table.

The gifts will be distributed to the families in early December.

We are hoping to collect enough gifts to distribute to 50 service members, their children, and spouses.

Please help us support our military members and their families this holiday season. If you have questions, contact Jackie Mroz at jmroz@email.unc.edu.
