Student briefs: Clark, Oelschlaeger, Todd

Brittany Clark, foundation year MSW student, was elected as a University Student Congress student representative for Distinct 10 (which includes the pharmacy, medical, public health, social work and nursing schools).

Karen Oelschlaeger took over in May as the youngest president of the League of Women Voters of Asheville-Buncombe County. She’s now in her second year of our Triangle Distance Education MSW Program, for which she drives to Chapel Hill once a week. Oelschlaeger is featured in an Oct. 21 Asheville Citizen Times article profiling her achievement.

Heather Todd, foundation year MSW student, received a service award for communications in the community health planning and policy development section of the American Public Health Association, at their annual conference in San Francisco last month.
