Collaborative grads honored

The Chapel Hill Child Welfare Education Collaborative at the UNC School of Social Work held its year-end celebration on May 2 to honor the 12 students graduating from the program. Each student’s accomplishments were recognized and certificates were presented. Event photos

Graduating student and leadership scholar Annie Francis gave a special presentation about why she chose this field. Recognition plaques were awarded to Leslie Farrow of Chatham County DSS, named Outstanding Field Instructor; and Wanda Reives, who was nominated Outstanding Child Welfare Faculty Member by students and alumni.

The students and faculty were treated to a delicious buffet luncheon catered by Reives’ mother Mrs. Edna Foushee, and tables beautifully decorated in Carolina blue by Sweetly Togba Sanders‘ sister, KT Trueh.

Offering specialized instruction in public child welfare practice, the Collaborative grants financial support to MSW students who commit to working in a county department of social service upon graduation.
