In the media: Childs, Parker

Doctoral student Sharon Parker was a panel guest on WUNC’s “The State of Things” radio show on Dec. 1 about “AIDS and African-American Identity.” On the show, which aired on World AIDS Day, she discussed the complexity of HIV risk factors and marginalization of incarcerated women.

Clinical instructor Selena Childs, MSW ’99, had an op-ed published in the Charlotte Observer Dec. 2., “Blaming DSS for child’s death is tempting, but usually wrong.” Childs is the project director of the N.C. Child Welfare Workforce Project.
