Faculty Briefs: Bledsoe, Caye, Duncan, Kum, Rounds, Strom-Gottfried, Wike

Betsy Bledsoe, Ph.D. and doctoral student Traci Wike are presenting their research in the poster “Feasibility of Treating Depression in Pregnant, Low-Income Adolescents Using Culturally Relevant, Brief Interpersonal Psychotherapy” in Bethesda, Md. at the BIRCWH Directors and Scholars Meeting, Office of Research on Women’s Health; and at the 7th Annual Interdisciplinary Women’s Health Research Symposium, National Institutes of Health.

Joanne Caye gave a presentation on “Emotional Abuse” for Eastern AHEC in Greenville on Oct. 6.

Dean Duncan, Ph.D. and Hye-Chung Kum, MSW ’98, Ph.D., are co-authors of an article in the latest edition of the Journal of the Society for Social Work and Research.  It is entitled “Felonious Arrests of Former Foster Care and TANF-Involved Youth.” The journal’s editor-in-chief is Mark Fraser, Ph.D.

Kathleen Rounds, Ph.D. was invited to represent the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Bureau/HRSA funded social work leadership programs at the Prelude to Strategic Planning Meeting on Oct. 19, and to attend the Title V Maternal and Child Health FederalState Partnership Meeting on Oct. 20 in Washington, D.C.

Kim Strom-Gottfried, Ph.D. recently presented on ethics at three conferences: The Fall Collaboration of Professionals Connecting for Victims, in Kill Devil Hills; The Eastern Region Developmental Disabilities Service Conference, and the Substance Abuse State of the Art Conference, both in Greenville.
