Rice retires from long career at Caswell Center

Danny Rice, MSW ’82, retired Aug. 31 as the director of specialized services from the Caswell Center for 25 years.

Rice came to the Caswell Center in 1982 as a social work supervisor, which led to his position as director of volunteer services, and a year later was named the director of specialized services, the position he retired from. The Center is a non-profit organization serving individuals and families with developmental disabilities in eastern North Carolina.

In 2008 he was given the N.C. Governor’s Award for Excellence for his contributions in public service.
