School bids farewell to Usher, Parish

At a reception on April 27, faculty, staff and students gathered to say goodbye to professors Lynn Usher and Susan Parish. Usher is retiring, and Parish is leaving UNC.

Usher has been with the School of Social Work since 1993 as the Wallace H. Kuralt, Sr. Professor of Public Welfare Policy and Administration.
Parish, an assistant professor, has been with the School since 2003 and is the director of the Developmental Disabilities Training Institute. She has accepted a distinguished chair professorship at Brandeis University.

Anna Scheyett, associate dean for academic affairs, summed up everyone’s feelings well with her comment on the School’s Facebook page: “Two big big losses for us. Lynn & Susan you will be missed!”
