MSW student Johanna Kingson’s father, Eric, has written a book called “Lessons from Joan: Living and Loving with Cancer, A Husband’s Story.” The book details her mother’s illness and how the family coped from diagnosis through death. In addition, the book offers advice on how to deal with unexpected life-threatening illnesses, how to identify and assess treatment options, and how to communicate with health care providers and deal with managed care.
Johanna Kingson is a first-year, full-time student and is in the direct practice concentration.
Eric Kingson is a professor of social work and public administration at Syracuse University. The book is published by Syracuse University Press.
