Fraser named Fellow of the American Academy of Social Work and Welfare

Mark Fraser, Ph.D., is being inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Social Work and Welfare. The organization, established in 2009, is an honorific society of distinguished scholars and practitioners dedicated to achieving excellence in the field of social work and social welfare through high impact work that advances social good.

Fraser is the John A. Tate Distinguished Professor for Children in Need, and the associate dean for research, at the UNC School of Social Work. He has authored or edited nine books and more than 100 journal articles and chapters, and is the editor-in-chief of the newly-launched Journal of the Society for Social Work and Research.

The induction event will be held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on April 21.
