The 3-Year MSW Program offers a Winston-Salem option for students who live within commuting distance of Winston-Salem, who are employed in the helping professions, and who cannot accommodate two academic years of full-time study. Students in the 3-Year Program — Winston-Salem typically live and work in communities including Greensboro, High Point, Charlotte, Morganton, Asheville, Statesville, Salisbury, and all points in between, as well as in Winston-Salem.
To apply for this program, you will follow the same application process as all MSW admissions. Our School’s policies apply to all MSW students. In addition, applicants to the 3-Year MSW Program are required to interview with the program director and a faculty member.

Please note that students in the 3-Year MSW Program — Winston-Salem option pay tuition and fees at the rate for “Off-Campus Programs” during the first and second years.
For the Winston-Salem option, classes in the first and second years are held at the Forsyth County Department of Social Services, Fifth Floor Classrooms, 741 N. Highland Avenue, Winston-Salem, N.C.
Classes in the third year are held at the UNC School of Social Work main building, Tate-Turner-Kuralt Building on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus.
