The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work honored its 2021 graduates during an online ceremony on Thursday, May 13, 2021.
The School awarded the Master of Social Work degree to 121 students and the Ph.D. in Social Work degree to four students. Eight students earned dual degrees, combining the MSW with a second degree in law, public health, public administration, or divinity.
Jillian Johnson, Mayor Pro Tempore of Durham, N.C. presented the commencement address. Dean Gary Bowen and Kristen Register Lakis, president of the School’s alumni council, also presented formal remarks.
The School’s online ceremony supplemented a University ceremony in Kenan Stadium on Friday, May 14, at which degrees were formally conferred.
