Alumni briefs: Lloyd, MSW ’03; Creech, MSW ’98; Batch, MSW/JD ’06; Crews, MSW ’18, Perry, MSW ’09; Bilazarian, MSW ’78

Susan Lloyd, MSW ’03, was promoted to quality assurance reviewer II at Georgia Disability Adjudication Services. Lloyd is also serving an 18-month term as a member of the Social Security Administration’s National Disability Policy Cadre. In November, she was honored to receive the Creativity and Innovation Award from the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency, the statewide parent agency for DAS. Lloyd lives in Loganville, Ga., with her husband Ryan and 10-year-old daughter Piper.

Veronica Creech, MSW ’98, was featured in the WRAL TechWire article, “Veronica Creech, Raleigh’s new economic development manager, wants greater prosperity for all.

Sydney Batch, MSW/JD ’06, is campaigning for election in North Carolina House District 37. Batch is a family law attorney and child welfare advocate in Wake County.

Marlowe Crews, MSW ’18, was hired as program coordinator for the UNC Refugee Mental Health and Wellness Initiative. In this role, she will be involved in macro and clinical work to support families resettled as refugees in the Triangle. While in the full time program, Crews completed her internships with the UNC initiative and the Center for Child and Family Health. Originally from the coast of North Carolina, Crews received her undergrad degree in interdisciplinary studies from Appalachian State University.

Justin Perry, MSW ’09, recently published the editorial column, “Civility without civil rights? Do better white moderates,” in The Charlotte Observer.

Robin Bilazarian, MSW ’78, is the author of  “Tapping the Mighty Mind- Simple Solutions for Stress, Conflict, and Pain,” which recently became an Amazon Best Seller.
