Career Day connects students with employers

By Annie Francis, Coordinator of Student Affairs

On April 4, 2016, the UNC School of Social Work hosted its annual Career Day event for our MSW students as well as undergraduate students from social work programs in North Carolina.

Representatives from over 50 agencies were on site to recruit our MSW students, and to talk with the visiting undergraduate students about potential careers. We also offered workshops for the undergraduate students related to graduate education in social work, and on negotiating social work salaries and student loan forgiveness programs.

Most floors of the building were in use as we converted the hallways, common areas, and some classrooms into a job fair from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Then at 2:00, recruiters had the opportunity to attend a continuing education workshop.

Thank you to all who participated and made the event a success!
