Student briefs: Horsford, Hughes, Wu

Doctoral students Christina Horsford and Jamie Hughes were speakers at a graduate student panel on aging research, “Addressing the Care Needs of Older Adults with Chronic Diseases,” presented by the UNC Institute on Aging on Dec. 4. Horsford spoke on, “Successful Meals Program: Improving the Dining Experience in Nursing Homes Among Residents with Cognitive Impairment.” Hughes spoke on, “Predictors of Discrepancies Between Patient-Reported and Objectively-Measured Sleep in VA Adult Day Health Care Participants.”

Doctoral student Shiyou Wu co-authored a paper presented at the 2014 Annual Conference of the China Social Work Education Association (CSWEA) in Beijing, China, and was awarded the Best Paper Prize of that conference. It is entitled, “Development of the Social Work Profession in China: A Content Analysis on Social Work Job Posts.”
