Event promotes graduate school and health careers to minority undergrads

By Ashley McMillan

The UNC School of Social Work, in partnership with the Health Affairs Partnership Initiative (HAPI), hosted a graduate school fair for current undergraduate McNair Scholars on November 14. The fair brought together representatives from the various health affairs programs and exposed students to the array of graduate school opportunities available to them at UNC, with an emphasis on research within health-related careers.

The event was part of efforts by the HAPI to increase retention of underrepresented minority students in health related careers. Participates included the School of Social Work, School of Public Health, School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy, and Allied Health Sciences.
