German students spend semester at UNC

This semester our School welcomes two German students, (shown from left) Colin Nitzpon and Ansgar Opitz. They are psychology graduate students from Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich. They have been working with Dr. Irene Zipper in our Family Support Program since Aug. 9, and auditing classes at the University.

The students are sponsored by a project called GEDS — Concentration in Global Education and Developmental Studies, which focuses on disability studies broadly defined. It is funded by the Fund for the Improvement of Post Secondary Education (FIPSE) in the U.S. and by the European Union in Europe to facilitate graduate student education at three universities in the U.S., and three in Europe.

Nitzpon and Opitz will be at UNC through Dec. 21.
