White paper answers “FAQ on Documentation and Clinical Records”

Professor Kim Strom-Gottfried has published a new paper, “FAQ on Documentation and Clinical Records.” It is the third in her series of periodic white papers, Theimann Advisory, which address questions transcending legal, ethical and clinical issues.

Faculty member Tina Souders, MSW, JD, and David DeVito, MSW ’09, are co-authors.

Using North Carolina statutes in examining the issues presented, this Advisory answers frequently asked questions (FAQ) on the challenges surrounding clinical documentation in health, mental health, education, substance abuse, child welfare and other service settings.  The Advisory is intended to apply to the array of helping professionals including social workers, counselors, and psychologists in a variety of settings.

Strom-Gottfried is the Smith P. Theimann Distinguished Professor for Ethics and Professional Practice.
