School well-represented at SSWR in Tampa

The UNC School of Social Work was well-represented at the Society for Social Work and Research’s 15th Annual Conference, held Jan. 12-16 in Tampa, Fla. Three from our School garnered national awards, and a number of faculty and doctoral students presented.

Assistant Professor Michal Grinstein-Weiss was given the 2011 Deborah K. Padgett Early Career Achievement Award.

Eric Garland (Ph.D. ’09) and Carrie Pettus-Davis were honored with doctoral awards. Garland won the 2011 Outstanding Disseration Award, and Pettus-Davis won the 2011 Doctoral Fellows Award.
