In the media: Smokowski, Testa

Professor Paul Smokowski‘s $6.5 million grant to establish the N.C. Academic Center for Excellence in Youth Violence Prevention has been covered by numerous media outlets, including Medical News Today, an on-air interview by WCHL Radio, the Fayetteville Observer, the Daily Tar Heel and also several Spanish media. The Observer also published an editorial stating, “Robeson needs what the center is selling. So do the rest of us.”

Distinguished Professor Mark Testa was quoted in a front-page Illinois newspaper story, “Poverty rate grows for black children.” Testa is a child-welfare expert who spent much of his career in Illinois.
