Peter Kramer, MSW ’87, is the recipient of a 2010 University Diversity Award. UNC’s Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs and Student Government sponsor the annual awards, which recognize significant contributions to the enhancement, support and furthering of diversity on campus and in the community.
A longtime clinical social worker for children and families at a community health clinic in Hillsborough, Kramer was selected for working to bring diverse people together and foster understanding among different populations.
In addition, Kramer was given the Book of Golden Deeds Award by the Exchange Club of Hillsborough in March. This recognition is given to a citizen with long-time involvement in community affairs. Previous recognition includes the Artists in Community Service Award by the Triangle Community Foundation in 2006, and the Pauli Murray Human Relations Award by Orange County in 2001.
Kramer resides on “Down Yonder Farm” in Hillsborough. His interests include public education, the arts and cultural diversity.
