Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Program launches Facebook page, LinkedIn group

UNC’s Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Program has launched a new Facebook page and LinkedIn group.

Why the foray into social media? “It’s an additional tool to help certificate students connect with each other, faculty and local nonprofits, including many of our field placement agencies,” said faculty member Mat Despard, program coordinator.
In addition to the networking possibilities, Despard posts helpful articles and links of interest on the Facebook page, and job opportunities on the LinkedIn site.

The Facebook page is open to the public, and will also be a useful marketing tool to help potential students and interested nonprofits learn about the program.

A new website for the program is in development, and will soon be available as well.

The Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Program, based at the UNC School of Social Work, prepares graduate students for leadership roles in North Carolina’s rapidly growing nonprofit sector and provides an in-depth examination of leadership issues within human services, education, the arts and other nonprofit organizations.
