Advanced Standing Program

The Advanced Standing Program is for students who have graduated from an accredited BSW program. Advanced standing students enroll in the summer, taking two courses (10 credit hours):

  • SoWo 715: Advanced Standing Bridge Course (6 credit hours)
  • SoWo 522: Advanced Standing Practicum (4 credit hours)
     

The remaining 30 hours are completed in the Advanced Curriculum in the student's chosen concentration. Advanced standing students meet the same distributional requirements as full-time and distance education students


An Advanced Standing Distance Education program is available for students who have graduated from accredited BSW programs and wish to maintain employment while completing the MSW over the course of two years.
