We are currently seeking a Functional Family Therapist (FFT) - Bi-Lingual Spanish 



This position travel to multiple locations in the Greensboro, Winston, Statesville and Charlotte areas. 



Position Summary 



The FFT operates under the Functional Family Therapy Model providing community based intensive counseling services to youth on juvenile probation as well as the youth’s family. The FFT works as a team player with internal and external stakeholders. 



Primary objective is to support the AMIkids’ mission and Personal Growth Model, providing a safe and successful learning environment for troubled youth, while encouraging social and emotional development through the achievement of academic and personal goals. 



THIS POSITION REQUIRES FLEXIBILITY IN HOURS TO MEET FAMILY AVAILABILITY INCLUDING EARLY MORNINGS, LATE EVENINGS, AND/OR WEEKENDS WORKING WITHIN THE VARIOUS LOCATIONS: WINSTON, GREENSBORO, CHARLOTTE AND STATESVILLE; OTHER LOCATIONS TO BE DETERMINED. 

50% OR MORE TRAVEL IS REQUIRED 



Essential Job Functions 

  • Management of time effectively to complete required job duties.
  • Ability to independently manage 10-15 family caseloads with at risk adolescents ages 10-18 years old and their caregivers.
  • Creation and maintenance of confidential working FFT clinical files for each youth.
  • Completing all required FFT assessments and input into CSS electronic databases.
  • Adherence to the FFT model following the three specific phases within FFT lens:

o Phase 1- Motivate and engage family 



o Phase 2-Create a behavior change plan with signed monthly ISPs 



o Phase 3-Create a generalization plan, including research and connecting youth with community resources 

  • 24/7 availability by phone to provide on-call support for youth and/or families experiencing crisis.
  • Maintenance of Confidentiality and HIPPA regulations.
  • Mandatory participation in scheduled supervisions with team &/or individually.
  • Attendance of required FFT trainings with acceptable skill level as defined by FFT, Inc.
  • Willingness to evaluate own wellness and ethical practices.
  • Input of notes a minimum of once a week into the FFT CSS (Clinical Services System).
  • Minimum weekly maintenance of all electronic databases.
  • Ensure timely submission of expense reports to include personal expenses and rental mileage.
  • Consistent ’Kids First’ focus when preforming all job duties.
  • Plan own weekly schedule, coordinate and schedule home visits in a cost effective manner, and submit weekly itinerary to designated staff, communicating updates and changes as needed.
  • Create and Maintain working partnerships with other departments and agencies in the community, including completion of monthly progress reports to referral sources.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with clients, other Family Services staff, and other agencies.
  • May be required to transport youth in personal vehicle, supervise youth at the Family Services Program, and transport and/or supervise youth or groups of youth during in-area or out-of-area field trips. Transportation may require acquisition of 100/300 personal car insurance. CPR and First Aid training, FFT training, crisis intervention training, and regular in-service trainings.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as needed.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience 

  • Master's Degree required in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or related Human Services field,
  • Must be eligible to meet professional standards, licensure, and certification requirements established by funding sources and pursue completion of these requirements within 90 days from hire,
  • Demonstrate respectful behavior and respect for cultural diversity,
  • Skilled at appropriate boundaries and limits for healthy practice,
  • Must maintain good standing with licensure board,
  • Must satisfy criminal background check and drug screening as defined by state requirements,
  • Must obtain and maintain appropriate crisis intervention and physical restraint training and certification as defined by state requirements,
  • Must obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid Certification by nationally recognized organization,
  • Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license in the state of employment.
