Jordan Institute for Families launches new website

After months and months of work, the School of Social Work’s Jordan Institute for Families has launched its new website, which highlights all of the institute’s work to strengthen families, communities and the people who serve them. The website features the efforts of faculty and staff across the school who are tackling big issues that impact families, including human trafficking, health inequity, poverty, incarceration, and infant mortality.

Visitors to the site can also learn more about the exciting new work underway in social innovation and entrepreneurship. In addition, the website features an ever-growing events calendar and includes a new blog that is open to students, staff, faculty and alumni.

Although the major lifting for the new website is done, faculty and staff will continue to update and enhance the site as needed, said Sarah Verbiest, director of the Jordan Institute.

“We welcome your feedback as we work to make this site a valuable resource for you,” she said.

The Jordan Institute for Families was originally established in 1996 by Michael Jordan and his family and continues to focus on catalyzing change for America’s most vulnerable families by moving social work research, expertise, data, policy, and training beyond the academic walls into communities everywhere, promoting intergenerational approaches to support families across the lifespan.
