Researching Issues Affecting Families and Communities
Faculty and staff are engaged
in a variety of research, evaluation, training, and technical
assistance projects through the Jordan Institute for Families.
Currently, over 45 externally funded projects involve more than
100 faculty and staff. These projects address problems that threaten
to undermine some families - such as poverty, abuse, mental illness,
school failure, substance abuse - as well as challenges that confront
most families like providing for aging family members, or the
safe care for children.
Family issues are addressed
across the lifespan and include:
Special needs of infants
and young children
School violence in the
middle and high school years
Adults dealing with mental
health or employment needs
Aging and end-of-life needs
Below is a list of current
projects being carried out through the Jordan Institute and the
programs that sponsor some of these projects.
