Track D: Media

1,5. Teen and Media by the Numbers: Using Media to Encourage Positive Behaviors
It seems we can barely keep up with the explosion of ways in which youth engage with media, how they are influenced by it, how it is transforming from a passive medium to an interactive social conduit and how it is being used as a tool to promote positive youth behaviors. This session reviews a variety of current research findings, provides a detailed portrait of the media landscape for teens and highlights successful lessons learned.

3. The New Media: Using Arts, Activism and Media to Reach and Challenge Youth
This session will share strategies in three distinct areas: arts, activism, and media and how they can be purposefully and powerfully combined to connect with adolescents on the high school level and beyond.
