Computing and Information Technology Unit

The Computing and Information Technology Unit (CITU) is the computer and video technical support unit within the School of Social Work. CITU supports the Schools' technical infrastructure, including a local area network, approximately 150 desktop computers and six servers.

The unit supports the School's research efforts through database administration and management, database and statistical programming, hardware and software support, Web page and Web database construction.

CITU's support of the School's teaching efforts includes building a video infrastructure capable of supporting satellite downlinks, video broadband and video in all classrooms and training facilities. CITU also provides equipment and support for faculty using computers and networks in their instruction. Finally, the unit supports the School of Social Work community services' efforts through the Human Services Smart Agency's computer software training, community human service technical assistance and Internet support. CITU's personnel bring together a variety of technical expertise. They are supported through the School of Social Work on a part-time basis.
