Understanding
and Intervening in Child Neglect
Child Neglect is the
number one cause of maltreatment fatalities in children, yet for
most workers, physical and sexual abuse get more attention.
Understanding and
Intervening in Child Neglect is a three-day training that
will help you understand neglect and how it affects children and
families. The course also explores innovative interventions. Participants will
leave with an understanding of how poverty and neglect are linked
(but not the same) and develop skills for working with families
who are neglectful.
Understanding and
Intervening in Child Neglect
is currently offered free of charge to social workers from North
Carolina departments of social services. To learn more about class
