Performs supervisory responsibilities for a staff of social workers who provide direct and/or indirect services to clients. This position supervises predominantly CPS/Foster Care Social Workers in a single sub-unit or multiple service programs; and is responsible for assigning cases to subordinates, coordinating work flow operations, and supervising the staff through case review and consultation which requires the provision of substantial and recurring technical direction. Work includes staff training, resolving problems and ensuring that quality services are provided; may provide input to higher level management on administrative, personnel, and budget issues. Work is performed under general supervision and is evaluated by observation, in discussions, and through review of reports and case records. The applicant should possess considerable knowledge of methods and principles of casework supervision and training; knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices and their application to specific casework and community problems; and knowledge of the laws, regulations, and policies that govern social work programs. Bi-lingual is a plus. Masters in Social Work preferred.
