DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Responsible for investigation and provision of child protective services, working cooperatively with the court system and law enforcement and appearing in court. Duties include investigating reports of maltreatment of children by their parent, guardian or caretaker; assessing the ongoing risk to children; developing family services case plans with the family; providing ongoing protective services to children and their families until the risk is alleviated; and assisting families in securing needed services in the community. Work is performed in cooperative partnership with community service providers, law enforcement, and the court system. Performs related duties as required.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Requires valid N.C. driver’s license, good driving record and transportation for use at work. Requires after hours work. College Transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: MSW-Child Welfare Collaborative; or MSW plus one year directly related experience; or BSW-Child Welfare Collaborative plus one year directly related experience; or BSW plus two years directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Social Worker I, II, & III may be considered. Minimum Training and Experience: 4-year degree from an accredited college or university. Salary: Based on qualifications.
